An active mother and wife, Tamara Burrell savors the precious moments of life and holds dear time spent with her family. After losing her beloved father, Tamara began to see things differently and made the decision to live in the moment and enjoy life more. Starting Burrell Travels was her way of combining her love of family, passion for travel, and honoring her experiences.

Whether it’s the little things like playing Monopoly with her family or major moments such as getting married in Jamaica, Tamara values quality time and wants to equip her travelers to do the same. When time, distance, and sometimes loss separates us from our loved ones, Burrell Travels allows travelers to create new memories with dream vacations and new adventures.

q&a: Fun with Tamara

What was your best last vacation and why?

My best last vacation was the Christmas Cruise that my entire family went on. It was a total of 14. We were able to swim with stingrays, dive for conch and then make fresh conch salad from it and ride ATVs. The best part was that we were able to do things together with my mom, my sister, my husband and my kids and create life long memories. I love being able to travel with my entire family because I am able to spend quality time with everyone. I don’t feel like anyone is left out. In addition, being able to hang with my favorite people and be in the water was icing on top. I am always in my most relax state when I am in or around water and sun.

What’s your favorite thing to do on vacation?

A massage, especially one on the beach. I absolutely love the water, swimming, snorkeling, playing in the ocean. That’s one reason why I wanted to focus on Caribbean excursions for families.

What reality show character would you be and why?

Kandi from Real Housewives of Atlanta. I like how she carries herself, very strategic in her business. She seems to have a good relationship with her family and makes sure she spends as much time with her kids and husband as much possible. She’s also ambitious and goes after what she wants and finds a way to balance everything.

What’s your favorite movie?

I’m more of an “outside the house” adventurer. Movies are good, but I prefer being outdoors and experiencing life rather than watching people make it up on a movie screen or TV.

What’s your favorite food?

Hands down: I love seafood, especially snow crabslegs! And for dessert cream brulee.
